Family Friendly Summer Activities Around Naperville

Jun 27, 2018

Naperville is full of places for the entire family. Whether you’re looking to immerse your family in Naperville’s history or spend a day by the pool, head to these exciting places for a fun-filled family day.

The Morton Arboretum

The kids will love exploring the beautiful grounds of The Morton Arboretum. Go for a quiet walk along Meadow Lake Trail while kids walk the wooded area for the Walking Plays program. Your kids will feel like they’ve stepped into a fairytale with their favorite literary stories being performed to the backdrop of 1,700 acres of trees and beautiful landscapes.

Naper Settlement

All Naperville residents receive free daily admission to this living history museum once you become a member. Luckily for Overstreet homeowners, our Ashwood Park community is less than a twenty-minute drive from the Naper Settlement. Families with children are encouraged to visit the Harvard Early Learning Playscape to get soaked at Naperville’s only Splash Pad, or hop on the Conestoga Wagon, the moving van of the 1800’s!

Centennial Beach

It’s not a swimming pool or a lake. It’s a water world experience like no other! Tucked away in the suburbs of Naperville, awaits Centennial Beach.  Located in an abandoned double quarry near DuPage River the park features a sandy beach with a pool, skatepark, and a tasty grilling concession stand. The entire family can splash the day away at this Naperville hotspot!

Funtopia

Whether your age 1 or 100, this adventure park prides itself on having activities the entire family can enjoy. Each attraction is specifically designed to be enjoyable for the mind and the body. With so many Fun Walls, a Rope Course, a Ninja Course, a Giant Slide and a toddler area everyone’s sure to have a fun time at Funtopia!

Lost Mountain Adventure Golf

Minutes away from Naperville is Lost Mountain Adventure Golf! Choose from soaking up the sun or putting under the stars! Built around a three tiered waterfall, this original course rises 22 feet into the air. During your play, you will pass through rock outcroppings, journey across a waterfall, and climb to the summit of Lost Mountain.
