Overstreet Builders’ signature neighborhoods have lots of great features, but there’s one thing families in our communities love best — being surrounded by so many wonderful parks near their new homes!
If you’re a mom or dad with young kids, then living near a great local park is a big deal for you. So when your kiddos are restless and you need some fresh air, get out of the house and into one of these local parks for some fun!
Escape to Nature
If you’re after a little relaxation and exploration, take a stroll through one of the quaint paths in Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve. The natural beauty of the meadows will take your breath away. You might even spot some local wildlife!
If you’d rather walk among flowers than prairies, a stroll through The Morton Arboretum is perfect. The public garden and herbarium features walking tours, special exhibits and seasonal events.
We also love to see the natural landscape zipping by at Go Ape Zip Line and Adventure Park. You’re sure to find excitement galore when you experience a ride through the treetops.
Splash in the Sun
Who doesn’t love a little splish-splash on a scorching afternoon? Pelican Harbor in Bolingbrook is full of water excitement year-round. With 4 water slides, a lazy river, beach volleyball and sand activities, you’ll never get bored!
Or head over to Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park for a bayou-themed water park with a variety of thrills and relaxation for all ages.
If you really want to get wet and wild, make Raging Waves Waterpark in Yorkville your destination. This is the big kahuna in all of Illinois - a massive water park with tons of slides, rides and water-fun activities.
Doggy Day at the Park
Do you have a fur friend or two who might like to join your family on your next outing? You’re in luck! Both Springbrook Prairie Dog Park and Whalon Lake Dog Park allow off-leash playtime on tons of acreage. And just outside of the fenced dog areas, there are other things to do like picnicking, boating, fishing and biking.
Indoor Fun
Everyone needs a little indoor playtime sometimes! One of our favorite family-friendly indoor parks in the area is Epic Air Trampoline Park, located in South Elgin This indoor amusement complex has a foam pit, jumping courts, and activities like trampoline basketball and dodgeball.
