Fall is a great season for so many reasons. Corn mazes, apple cider, pumpkin patches, warm scarves, train rides, foliage, and so on! Illinois is a great place to enjoy Fall to the fullest. Below are some local Autumn inspired venues.
All Seasons Orchard
Located in Woodstock and less than an hour from our Summergate and Ridgeview communities of Highland Woods in Elgin, this is a fantastic orchard and cider mill that you should visit. We don’t need words to convince- this picture is definitely worth a thousand- it’s their amazing donut sundae, made with their famous apple cider donuts (which are made daily).
Their other features are just a plus (though this sundae is reason enough to go):
- Apple Orchard
- Pumpkins
- Corn Maze
- Barnyard
- Farm Market
- Country Kitchen (with Pulled Pork Sammies)
Richardson Farm
If you want to be a little more hardcore about your Fall to-do’s this is a great one for your bucket list. It’s about an hour away from our communities in Elgin, but it’s well worth the drive. It boasts the world’s largest corn maze, and this year, that maze is dedicated to the Cubs’ World Series Championship last year (pictured below)! With its 9-10 miles of trail winding through 28 acres of live corn, can you rise to the challenge?
If the world’s largest corn maze wasn’t enough to draw you in, check out this quick list with only some of the other fun activities they have:
- Wagon Ride
- Train Ride
- Farm Carousel
- Zip Line
- Zorbing
- eXtreme Air
- Pig Race
- Petting Zoo
- 100’ Slide
- Jumping Pillow
- Pedal Kart Tracks
- Paintball
- Camp Fires
2Toots Train Whistle Grill
If you’re looking for some Fall fun that’s more low key and easily manageable to take the kids out during a weeknight, check out this restaurant, because what says Fall better than trains? 2Toots Train Whistle Grill has train tracks running throughout the restaurant delivering baskets of food! It’s perfect for a night out with the whole family and they have a location in Naperville, close to our Ashwood Park and Hidden Creek (coming soon) communities.
Get out and enjoy Fall before it get’s too cold. The local to-do’s can’t be missed!
