Labor Day Weekend in the Suburbs of Chicago

Wondering what to do this weekend, but don’t want to deal with the hustle and bustle of city traffic? Check out these events that are going on near the suburbs of Elgin and Naperville! Sometimes the best events happen not too far from your Overstreet home.

Schaumburg Labor Day Parade

Less than thirty minutes from Elgin, this two-mile and approximately two hour parade on Monday, September 4 will feature the Schaumburg Fire Department as the parade marshal, celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. It’s a great place to take the lawn chairs and a couple of sandwiches and cold sodas for the family to enjoy!

When: Monday, September 4, 2017. Parade will kick-off promptly at 10 a.m.

Where: The parade moves south to north on Summit Dr. from Wise Rd. to Stock Port Ln.

Frankfort Fall Festival

A little over thirty minutes from Naperville, this festival invites over 300 artisans to showcase their talents, and also has attractions from carnival rides to main stage entertainment, to walking tacos and funnel cakes. You can’t miss out!

When: September 2nd – September 4th, 2017!

Where: 123 Kansas St, Frankfort, IL 60423

Last Fling (Naperville)

This fundraiser for the Naperville Jaycees is a jampacked gymboree with a parade, a carnival, and even live music, including Lita Ford and Daughtry. Visit their website for pricing information and other details.

Where: Near Naperville Central High School, 440 W. Aurora Ave. (set your GPS to that address if you’re coming from out of town)
